Recently, the final round of the 3rd English Drama Competition of the 2026 International Cultural Experience Season of NEU, themed "Voices Across the World, Voices Resound Worldwide, Shine on the Stage," was held in the multi-function hall of the Student Activity Center. Zhang Wei, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages; Zhang Mansheng, Party Secretary of the School; Li Xin, Vice Dean; Yan Zhigang, Deputy Party Secretary and concurrently Vice Dean; Dong Gefei, Director of the English Department; Feng Yi, Deputy Director; and the foreign teacher Nathan attended the event.
After fierce competition in the preliminary round, six teams advanced to the final round. At the final round venue, the rhythm of English intertwined with dramatic tension. Each crew integrated the core of classic original works with trendy stage performances. Intellectual sparks emerged from the collision of ideas, and sincere emotions resonated across time and space. Together they presented a wonderful audio-visual feast of drama.
In the end, the drama "Anastasia" won the first prize. "Come from Away" and "Witness for the Prosecution" won the second prize. "The Cherry Orchard", "King Lear", and "Twelfth Night" won the third prize. "Come from Away" and "King Lear" received the Most Popular Award. Wu Sirui from the crew of "Anastasia" and Yu Xintong from the crew of "Witness for the Prosecution" won the Best Actress Award and the Best Actor Award respectively.
