The 38th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (CCDC 2026) Successfully Held in Nanjing

From May 15 to 18, the 38th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (CCDC 2026), jointly hosted by NEU and the Technical Committee on Control and Decision of Cyber-Physical Systems of the Chinese Association of Automation (CAA), was held in Nanjing. As an important academic event in the field of control and decision in China, the conference was themed “Intelligent Control — Autonomous Decision-making — Intelligent Future.” The event brought together more than 1,700 experts and scholars from universities and research institutions around the world for academic exchange. Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), Nanjing Tech University, and Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST) served as the local organizers and provided important support for the successful hosting of the conference.

The conference focused on cutting-edge fields such as intelligent control, autonomous decision-making, artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, and new energy systems. It coordinated and organized many high-level academic exchange activities, including 4 plenary speeches, 10 distinguished lectures, and 12 high-level forums. More than 200 leading experts and leading scientific and technological professionals in the field of control attended the conference, including Professor Jiao Zongxia, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) from Beihang University, and Professor Hu Dewen, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) from the National University of Defense Technology (NUDT). They conducted in-depth discussions on frontier technologies and development trends in related fields. Meanwhile, the conference organized 9 thematic workshops and 20 special sessions around key directions such as intelligent perception and decision-making for unmanned systems, security protection for cyber-physical systems, and optimal control of complex systems. These multi-level and diverse academic activities built an efficient and interactive exchange platform for attending experts and conference participants. A total of 23 professors from NEU—An Liwei, Chang Yuqing, Che Weiwei, Ding Jinliang, Guo Ge, He Dakuo, Hao Liying, Hu Xuguang, Li Hongru, Li Xiaojian, Li Yuzhe, Liu Jinhai, Liu Shixin, Liu Tengfei, Lu Anyang, Luo Yanhong, Pan Feng, Wu Ziyang, Xue Dingyu, Yang Dongsheng, Zhang Jiliang, Zhang Yingwei, and Zhou Ping—participated in the conference throughout the event as invited speakers or event chairs. Their participation fully demonstrated NEU's achievements and influence in first-class discipline construction and talent cultivation.

To promote the growth of young scholars, the conference specially established the "Zhang Siying (CCDC 2026) Outstanding Youth Paper Award". The establishment of this award highlights NEU's strong commitment to academic innovation and talent cultivation. Li Hongru, on behalf of the organizers, presented the "CCDC 2026 Excellent Organizer Award" to the organizing institutions.

As a host of the conference, NEU leveraging its strengths in Control Science and Engineering. By building a high-level academic exchange platform, it not only promoted academic exchanges and innovative cooperation but also demonstrated the university's responsibility in serving national strategic needs.
