The Sci-tech Exchange Meeting between NEU and Midea Held

On March 30, the sci-tech exchange meeting between NEU and Midea was held in Room 1401 of the main building, NEU. Liu Qianjin, Director of Lyceem Lab, Midea, Tang Lixin, Vice-president of NEU, and personnel from Lyceem Lab and relevant departments of NEU attended the meeting.

Midea Group has been valuing science and technology investment, talent cultivation and iterative upgrade. Officially approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology at the end of 2022, Lyceem Lab has been focusing on high-end manufacturing and targeting cutting-edge technology research. It aims to realize the integration and upgrading of core components, solve bottleneck problems, and meet the national strategic needs. In the future, Midea would like to cooperate with NEU in scientific research and talent cultivation, Liu Qianjin said.

Tang Lixin pointed out that the manufacturing industry, as a typical real economy form, should adhere to the four aspects, deepen university-enterprise collaborative innovation, accurately hold the position and role of science and technology in industrial development, focus on strategic objectives and concentrate the current and future cooperation direction. In the course of 100 years of construction and development, NEU has formed unique advantages in the field of process innovation and intelligent technology. Additionally, NEU has a good foundation in creating specialized new robots and conquering underlying technologies and key core technologies. The two parties should build on their respective advantages, deepen exchanges, strengthen exchanges of technical personnel based on national strategies, and jointly contribute to the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry, he added.

During the meeting, Liu Qianjin and his delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Synthetical Automation for Process Industries and the National Frontier Science Center for Industrial Intelligence and System Optimization.
