Feng Xiating Led a Delegation to Visit Australia

From May 24 to 28, President Feng Xiating led a delegation to visit the University of Wollongong and Monash University in Australia upon invitation, and held the Australian Young Scholars Symposium and the Australian Alumni Forum and Exchange Meeting.

On May 25, Feng Xiating and his delegation paid an official visit to the University of Wollongong. They held formal talks with Professor Lu Gaoqing, Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE), Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science (AAS), Fellow of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), Distinguished Alumnus of NEU, and President of the University of Wollongong; Professor Joe Chicharo, Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor; as well as core teams from the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences, the Institute for Innovative Materials, the Institute for Superconducting and Electronic Materials, and the Office of Global Partnerships. Important cooperation intentions were reached. The two sides plan to strengthen international joint education programs and joint talent training. They plan to jointly establish master's-level Sino-foreign cooperative education programs in engineering fields such as intelligent mining, machinery, and materials, carry out joint undergraduate training based on models such as the "2+2" program, and strengthen two-way student exchanges. Through the YES Program of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the "Learning by Doing Overseas" Student International Exchange Program of NEU, they will align with the NCP Program of the University of Wollongong and deepen two-way student visiting and exchange programs;
