Recently, the School of International Education held the “2026 Perceiving China” Benxi Visit themed event. Nearly 120 international students studying in China from 11 countries including Turkmenistan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Yemen, and Iran participated in the event.
The first stop of the event was the Liaoning Provincial Overseas Chinese International Cultural Exchange Base—the Former Site of No.1 Ironworks in the Benxihu Industrial Heritage Complex.

While exploring industrial history, the international students also experienced traditional Chinese culture and intangible cultural heritage techniques. On the occasion of the International Tai Chi Day, a Chinese martial arts demonstration full of traditional Chinese charm was enthusiastically held at the Benxihu Industrial Heritage Complex.
At Benxi Water Cave, the international students began a journey to experience the scenic beauty of mountains and waters. As the world’s longest underground river scenic area that allows continuous boat touring, its unique karst landscape enabled the international students to appreciate the natural beauty of Benxi.

Afterward, the international students visited the Liaoning Huabao Liaoyan Inkstone Museum to experience up close the unique charm of Chinese intangible cultural heritage and calligraphy.
