Recently, the finals of the Second National Cybersecurity Industry Vocational Skills Competition concluded in Shanghai. Mr Wang Weidong from the Office of Information Technology and Cybersecurity at NEU secured the National Third Prize in the Cybersecurity Administrator track demonstrating his solid professional expertise.
Themed "Skills Light the Way," the competition is a national first-tier event focused on assessing practical cybersecurity capabilities. This competition attracted over 22,000 cybersecurity professionals nationwide. After multiple rounds of selection, 318 elite contestants advanced to the national finals, where they competed across four core tracks—Cybersecurity Administrator, Network Information Reviewer, Penetration Tester, and Digital Forensics Analyst. As frontline sentinels safeguarding campus information infrastructure, cybersecurity administrators hold core positions responsible for ensuring the stable operation of the university's security architecture. Their performance directly impacts the stable functioning of the campus’s digital infrastructure and the security protection of its core data resources. In the high-intensity, real-world competitive environment, Mr Wang Weidong won the award at this year's competition, demonstrating the positive outcomes achieved by NEU's Office of Information Technology and Cybersecurity in continuously cultivating high-caliber cybersecurity professionals and strengthening cybersecurity governance capabilities.
