On October 14, the cooperation exchange symposium between Northeastern University and Shenyang Aircraft Design & Research Institute was held at Northeastern University. The two sides discussed ways to further deepening university-institute cooperation. Deputy Director of Shenyang Aircraft Design & Research Institute Ning Yongqian, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Northeastern University Zhang Hao, and Assistant to the President Liu Yanhui attended the meeting, along with relevant personnel from both sides.
Zhang Hao welcomed the visit of Ning Yongqian and his delegation. Zhang Hao stated that Northeastern University and Shenyang Aircraft Design & Research Institute enjoy a solid cooperation foundation and broad prospects for collaboration. During an April 2025 visit, the university visited the institute for exchanges, and after the meeting, a special exchange summary was issued to advance strategic cooperation matters. Various relevant departments have actively implemented these initiatives with phase-one results. Shenyang Aircraft Design & Research Institute is an important strategic partner of the university. In the future, a closer cooperation mechanism will be established to achieve in-depth integration between the university and the institute, seek pragmatic outcomes, and make greater contributions to the national defense industry and the development of Liaoning and Shenyang.
Ning Yongqian expressed gratitude to Northeastern University for its long-term support to Shenyang Aircraft Design & Research Institute and for fostering and supplying a large number of outstanding talents. Ning Yongqian reviewed the cooperation history between the two sides in areas such as Party building, research cooperation, graduate cultivation, and talent cooperation, expressing full confidence in further deepening cooperation. Around the "15th Five-Year Plan", it is hoped that both sides will focus on major development strategies under the leadership of Party building, engage in comprehensive and regular exchanges, and contribute wisdom and strength to the country's aviation industry and Chinese path to modernization.
