On the afternoon of June 18, NEU held its 2025 Postgraduate Graduation and Degree Conferral Ceremony at the Liu Changchun Gymnasium. Guo Hai, Secretary of the CPC NEU Committee, Feng Xiating, President of NEU, and other officials attended the ceremony. Representatives from the Qinhuangdao Campus and the colleges and departments, faculty supervisors, staff of postgraduate affairs, and the postgraduates of the class of 2025 participated in the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Liu Chengjun, Executive Vice Dean of the Postgraduate School.
The 2025 Postgraduate Graduation and Degree Conferral Ceremony of NEU commenced with the solemn national anthem.
Wang Qiang announced the decision of NEU on conferring Doctoral and Master's Degrees to the 2025 postgraduate class. The Doctoral Degree was conferred to 672 doctoral graduates, including Wang Meng, and the Master's Degree was conferred to 5,237 postgraduates, including Bao Wanyu.
Zhang Hao announced the List of Outstanding Postgraduate Students and Outstanding Postgraduate Student Leaders from the Class of 2025 at NEU.
Wang Hao, a doctoral student in the Department of Control Engineering at the College of Information Science and Engineering and a representative of the graduate students, delivered a speech. He expressed his deepest gratitude and highest respect to NEU for its meticulous nurturing, to his teachers for their dedicated guidance, and to his parents for their upbringing care. He looked back on his eleven-year academic journey at NEU, shared his struggles in scientific research and learning, and urged his fellow students to uphold the spirit of “Strive unceasingly for self-perfection, and integrate knowledge with practice,” to remain committed to the nation and its people, and to dedicate themselves to serving the nation and its people.
Professor Ren Peng, a representative of faculty supervisors, recipient of a National-level Talent Program Award, Dean of the School of Marxism, and doctoral supervisor, drew on his own experiences of studying and working at NEU to offer postgraduates three key words: “Choice,” “Companionship,” and “Belief.” He encouraged all postgraduates to “develop a sense of national pride reaching for the stars, while also embodying a practical spirit of concrete action,” to uphold NEU's pursuit of excellence, and to maintain a broad-minded love for the university, the hometown, the nation, and the humanity. He urged students to put in genuine efforts, hone their skills, “To sail day and night at breakneck speed with cloud-like sails hoisted high,” with childlike fervor and sincerity, embarking on a grand journey that blooms with flowers along the way.
On behalf of NEU, Feng Xiating extended warm congratulations to the postgraduate students who have successfully completed their studies, paid high tribute to the teachers who have nurtured the students with care, and expressed sincere gratitude to the parents and friends who have supported university's development and cared for the students' growth. Feng Xiating emphasized his hope that the students would incorporate the patriotic spirit, innovative mindset, and resilient character instilled by NEU into their new chapters of life. Under the theme of “Thinking Without Borders, Acting Without Limits,” Feng Xiating encouraged graduates not to impose limits on their creativity and initiative, urging them to think boldly, act decisively, and forge ahead with courage. He stated that NEU would always keep its gate remain open for the students, eagerly awaiting their return, and wished them a bright future filled with promise.
Guo Hai and Feng Xiating presented the degree certificates to the doctoral graduates. Members of the Academic Degree Evaluation Committee, leaders of the University, college deans, and faculty representatives presented the degree certificates to the postgraduates.
With the solemn and majestic university anthem, the 2025 Postgraduate Graduation and Degree Conferral Ceremony of NEU came to a successful conclusion. The guests and teachers present rose to their feet and waved to the postgraduate students.
