On the evening of December 30, NEU's 2025 New Year's Party was held in the multifunctional hall of the student activity center in Nanhu Campus and the multifunctional hall of the student center in Hunnan Campus. President Feng Xiating, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Zhang Hao, Vice Presidents Wang Qiang, Wang Xingwei and Wang Hui attended the party. Nearly 3000 teachers and students of NEU get together to welcome the New Year.
On behalf of the school, Feng Xiating sent holiday greetings and New Year wishes to all teachers and students, and expressed heartfelt thanks to the teachers and students who worked hard and made selfless contributions in the past year. Xiating Feng noted that the year 2024 is not only the beginning of the new journey of NEU in its new century, but also a year of hard work and abundant harvest. NEU’s various endeavors are thriving, and all NEUers have shown a new look of "revitalizing the Northeast China and shouldering the responsibility", ushering a new era of high-quality development of "China-featured, world-class" university.
Feng Xiating drew a special prize for the New Year, and awarded the students who won the special prize a round-trip air ticket to their hometown during the winter vacation, sending warm wishes to the students on behalf of NEU.
The party was held simultaneously at Nanhu Campus and Hunnan Campus, lasting for 3 hours. The program of the evening party was rich and varied. The two campuses celebrated the festival together. The College Art Troupe and students from various colleges performed together, carefully rehearsing diverse programs such as songs and dances, cross talk, magic show, chorus, recitation, martial art, Hanfu show, band performance, which were brilliant earning continuous applause from the audience, fully demonstrating the cheerful holiday atmosphere and showing the youthful vitality everywhere. This event deeply condensed the feelings of serving the country and loving NEU of all teachers and students.

The New Year's Day Carnival, along with the evening party was held in the student activity center of Nanhu Campus and Hunnan Campus at the same time. Playing interactive games, students explored seven geographical areas of China, experienced folk customs, enjoyed fun games and tasted special foods. Students on site wrote Chinese characters for “good fortune” and solved riddles together, experiencing traditional culture in a strong New Year’s atmosphere, recieving New Year's greetings and welcoming the New Year with joy.
