Recently, a research group led by Associate Professor Song Yu of the NEU College of Sciences achieved a major breakthrough in aqueous magnesium-ion battery research. The related findings were published in Chemical Engineering Journal, a Zone 1 TOP journal in the Chinese Academy of Sciences journal ranking, under the title "Activating Transition Metal sites in Prussian Blue Analogues for Sustainable and Biocompatible Aqueous Magnesium-Ion Batteries." He Yuliang, an undergraduate majoring in applied chemistry at the College of Sciences, is the first author of the paper.

The related findings not only provide new ideas for improving the performance of aqueous energy storage electrodes, but also strongly support the research and development of energy storage technologies for next-generation wearable and implantable electronic devices.
This research was supported by the College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program and the Key Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology. The instrument-sharing platforms of the NEU Analytical Instrumentation Center and the Chemistry Experimental Center of the College of Sciences provided important technical support for material characterization in this work.
