Professor Xu Dake’s Team at NEU Makes Major Progress in the Field of Nanozyme Antifouling Agents for Inhibiting Marine Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion

Recently, Professor Xu Dake’s research group from Professor Wang Fuhui’s team at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, NEU, made important progress in the field of nanozyme antifouling agents for inhibiting microbiologically influenced corrosion. The relevant research results were published in the authoritative international journal Advanced Materials (DOI: 10.1002/adma.74692) under the title “Electron Lever-Assisted d-Band Center Engineering in Intermetallic Alloy Nanozymes for Efficient Marine Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion Inhibition”. Dr. Yang Linlin, Associate Professor Yu Bin, and Dr. Dong Yizhe from the School are co-first authors; Professor Xu Dake and Associate Professor Yu Bin are co-corresponding authors; NEU is the primary completion institution.

This study elucidates the electronic structure regulation mechanism of nanozyme catalytic activity at the atomic scale, providing a new theoretical framework and technical pathway for the rational design of long-acting antifouling agents and the efficient inhibition of microbiologically influenced corrosion in complex marine environments. The above work was supported by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key R&D Program of China, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities.
