On June 26, Northeastern University and the China Academy of Electronics and Information Technology signed an agreement to jointly establish the Interdisciplinary Quantum Science and Technology Research Center. As a university-level interdisciplinary research platform, the Center is hosted by the School of Computer Science and Engineering and operates under a Chief Scientist responsibility system. Researchers from computer science, information science, physics, and materials science will collaborate to integrate disciplinary strengths, research teams, and project resources. The Center aims to advance a new “Quantum+” model for education and scientific research, accelerating the transition of quantum technologies from the laboratory to real-world applications in specific scenarios.
