On December 17, the NEU Fifth Career Challenge Competition and Third National College Student Career Planning Competition NEU Finals were held in the Multipurpose Hall of the Student Activity Center at the South Lake Campus. Vice President Wang Hui of NEU and Yan Feng, Director of the Liaoning Province College Student Employment and Entrepreneurship Center, attended the event. Leaders from Baosteel, Shenyang Aircraft Corporation, Huawei, Inspur, ZTE, and other companies served as judges. Representatives from the Youth League Committee, Student Affairs Office, and Student Guidance Service Center, along with student affairs officers from each college, attended the event.
Under the theme "Youth Aspirations Know No Bounds: Career Planning Sets Sail for the Future," attracted 13,985 undergraduate and graduate students from 19 schools (departments) across NEU to register for participation. Following school recommendations and university-wide selection, a total of 16 contestants advanced to the finals. On the competition stage, participants transformed classroom knowledge into professional practice blueprints and turned vague career plans into clear development paths. They showcased NEU students' bold aspirations, pragmatic and innovative qualities, and patriotic spirit rooted in love for both their nation and alma mater.
Gold medals in the Growth Track were awarded to Zhai Haodi (School of Information Science and Engineering) and Du Ruichao (School of Metallurgy), while Chu Yichen (School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation) and Xing Jinwen (School of Information Science and Engineering) took gold in the Employment Track. Hao Yuan, Liu Penglin, Zhang Fukun, Xu Xiang, Shen He, and Ren Chunzhen were recognized as Outstanding Instructors. The School of Business Administration, School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Medical and Bio-Information Engineering, School of Life Sciences and Health, and Department of Physical Education were honored as Outstanding Organizing Units.
It is reported that NEU places great emphasis on the vital role of career planning competitions in talent development and actively explores new models for integrating career planning competitions with career education. NEU will seize this opportunity to further promote the principle of using competitions to enhance learning, teaching, and employability. This initiative aims to comprehensively boost students' competitiveness in the job market and open new horizons for employment by fostering innovative approaches to career selection.
