April 18th, Iain Watt, Executive Vice President of the University of Technology Sydney, and Li Xinqing, President of the Australia Education Management Group, together with the delegation visited the Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao, and during the visit both sides signed cooperation framework agreement. Liu Jianchang, vice president of Northeastern University and president of Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao, met with the guests in Room 325 of the Administration Building.
The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and discussion on developing cooperative education in specialized fields such as computer and mathematics. Liu Jianchang said that Northeastern University had many similarities in the concept of running education with University of Technology Sydney. Liu Jianchang pointed out that, the foundation of cooperative education was student cultivation, and it was necessary for two sides to promote deep cooperation in the field of education and scientific research through student cultivation. Iain Watt said that student development was the key. Only when students truly became the center of international communication can deep cooperation between universities truly be activated and deeper exchanges and win-win between academic researchers be achieved.
