Recently, the IEEE CASE 2026 (the IEEE 22nd International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering) was held in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. The IEEE CASE 2026 is one of the three flagship conferences of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (IEEE RAS). It was held in the Chinese mainland for the first time in nearly a decade, attracting more than 1,000 experts and scholars from 43 countries and regions for academic exchange.
This conference focused on "Intelligent Industry" and was organized by the National Frontier Science Center for Industrial Intelligence and System Optimization at NEU. Tang Lixin, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Deputy Secretary of the NEU Party Committee and Vice President, served as the conference chair.

In his opening address, Conference Chair Professor Tang Lixin said that, faced with the uncertainty and complexity brought by artificial intelligence and industrial transformation, we should be adept at elevating our thinking to a higher dimension and expanding partial thinking into a systems perspective through higher-dimensional thinking. Professor Nancy Amato delivered a speech on behalf of IEEE RAS, speaking highly of the organization and preparation of the Conference.
It is reported that the convening of this conference in Shenyang expanded the international influence of NEU, enhanced the international visibility of Liaoning Province and Shenyang, promoted the deep integration across three dimensions—China's automation field and the international automation field, industrial automation and intelligence, and academia and industry—and injected new vitality into the innovative development of international automation science and engineering.
