On May 28, the kick-off meeting & implementation demonstration meeting for the key project Strategic Mineral Resources Development and Utilization in the National Key R&D Plan Key Technology Integration and Demonstration of Hard Rock Lithium Ore Development and High-quality Utilization in Special Environments was held offline and online. This project is undertaken by Xinjiang Nonferrous Metal Industry (Group) Co., Ltd., with professor Zhu Yimin from NEU’s College of Resources and Civil Engineering as the chief scientist. Pei Zhiyong, director of Division of Resource and Environment, the Administrative Center for China’s Agenda 21, Zhang Guohua, secretary of the Party Committee of Xinjiang Nonferrous Metal Industry (Group) Co., Ltd., academician Sun Chuanyao from BGRIMM Technology Group, academician Huang Xiaowei from GRINM Group Corporation Limited, relevant heads of NEU’s College of Resources and Civil Engineering, experts of the project implementation demonstration committee and all members of the project team attended the meeting.
To ensure the smooth implementation of the project and achieve the expected goals, the project team established the project consulting expert committee. Nine experts were invited to be the members of the committee, including academician Huang Xiaowei, researcher Liu Cheng from ENFI, professor Cao Yijun from Zhengzhou University, professor Che Xiaokui from GRINM Group Corporation Limited, professor Tong Xiong from Kunming University of Science and Technology, professor Sun Chunbao from University of Science and Technology Beijing, researcher Li Lijuan from Qinghai Institute of Salt Lakes, Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as senior accountants Xu Shenghuai and Cheng Lixin.
The project implementation demonstration meeting was chaired by academician Huang Xiaowei, leader of the expert group of the consulting committee. Project leader Zhu Yimin made a general report on the project overview, technical scheme, excution plan, organization and management, and five topic heads respectively made a detailed report on the topic implementation scheme. The expert group seriously examined the relevant materials of the project, questioned the key scientific problems to be solved, technical routes, assessment indicators, management mechanism, application demonstration and other aspects, and unanimously agreed to pass the demonstration. Additionally, the expert group put forward constructive suggestions on the following work for the project from the aspects of improving innovation, deepening mechanism research and meeting the actual demands of the industry.
