On September 26, China Society of Automotive Engineers organized specialists to hold an evaluation conference on the project of “High-toughness Aluminum-silicon Coating Technology for Hot Stamping Steel” in Suzhou. This project was jointly completed by NEU’s State Key Laboratory of Rolling and Automation, Yucaitang (Suzhou) Material Technology Co., Ltd., TAGAL, and Magang Co., Ltd. Such Evaluation specialists as Li Dequn and Mao Xinping, academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Wang Xinjiang, secretary-general of Chinese Society for Metals, Hou Fushen, deputy secretary-general of China Society of Automotive Engineers, Huo Congmin, general manager of GWM Product Development Center, Luo Yuanhong, chairman of Dongfeng Industrial Co., Ltd., Yu Jianshan, CQO of Geely Lotus, and Xu Haiwei, director of Shougang Jingtang Technology Center, attended the conference. The conference was presided over by Li Dequn.
Professor Yi Hongliang from NEU’s State Key Laboratory of Rolling and Automation is the leader of the “High-toughness Aluminum-silicon Coating Technology for Hot Stamping Steel” project. Experts including Wang Guodong, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Gao Yi, general manager of TAGAL (Chongqing), Miao Xinlei, director of customer service and technology of TAGAL, Yuan Guo, director of NEU’s State Key Laboratory of Rolling and Automation, and Liu Yonggang, deputy director of the technology center of Magang Co., Ltd., were present at the conference.
At the evaluation conference, Professor Yi Hongliang made a report on the project technology, and the evaluation specialists reviewed all the documents required. After evaluation and discussion, all the specialists agreed that the project had solved the two problems of insufficient toughness and delayed cracking of hot stamping steel for the first time in the world, broken the international technological monopoly, and reached the international leading level, so the project evaluation was approved.
